Opera curiosa by Christian Berger and Vladimir Genin Performed by: Opera-Fun-Tastic-A, Berlin Artistic Director: Thorsten Kreissig Just about when no one expected greater concepts than Mozart’s complete works performed at the Salzburg Festival an international opera-ensemble was founded in Berlin to perform a highly interesting Mozart concoction: trazoM kiasoM – Mozart, stirred and well-shaken!, is musical theatres response to the successful boom of British playwrights ('The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)') The Mozart family, the „Inner Mozart Club“, has come together in the realm of the immortal, to celebrate WAMs (W. A. Mozart) 250th birthday. Typical for such a family reunion is the tendency for fights and feuds over politics society and the importance of the own contribution to the worldwide fame of Wolferls music. The guests are drawn into ridiculously funny short versions of Mozart’s greatest Operas – with surprising results. Seduction in the Serail, Prestissimo Figaro, Cosi fan tutti-frutti„or Don Giovanni’s Highway to Hell are turned into a fascinating stage experience for opera buffs as well as for newcomers to the world of singing and w(h)ining. PREMIERE in BERLIN One of the top highlights is (Magic Flute Rave), a thrilling, speed-up version of the worlds most famous opera – including all the musical highlights as well as an indiscreet Making-Of by its authors Wolferl und Schicki (Emmanuel Schikaneder). Musical TricksMusically exciting for opera-buffs (especially for Mozart-aficionados!) is the daring blending of he famous arias: the Revenge-Aria of the Queen of the Night is interwoven with Sarastros solemn Hall-aria to turn into an unforgettable duet of the paternal and maternal archetypes portrayed through Mozart’s music. „Prestissimo Figaro“ speeds Count Almaviva from Baritone to Tenor and the entrance of the statue in „Don G. Highway to Hell“ turns into a polyphonic multi-voiced head out of the abysses of the immortal. Mostly accompanied by Nannerl Mozart on accordion, Opera Fun-Tastic-A sometimes just turns to good old Accapella-traditions: the overture of magic flute as a barbershop ensemble. These exceptional musical arrangements have been cunningly conceived by the Munich based Russian composer Vladimir Genin, who has created trazoM kiasoM – Mozart, stirred and well-shaken!, alongside with author Christian Berger. Both meet Mozart and his librettists with utmost respect and a never-ending ending love for his musical Genius – and let him appear as modern and daring, as Wolferl has been in his own lifetime. Directed by Thorsten Kreissig, former ballet-director in Lucerne (Switzerland) and director/choreographer of more than 100 opera and ballet productions, trazoM kiasoM Promises to be a hilariously entertaining trip to opera-world.
